I’m about to install a new shower, what options are available to me?
If you are considering the installation of a shower, you can choose from a wide range of different showers at the store. With today's available equipment and variety of showers it is often difficult to find a shower that meets your own needs or requirements. Depending on the space available in the bathroom, there are the following options available:
- Corner solution
- Niche solution
- Free-standing shower cubicle
Basically, there three installation styles for showers. In terms of shape, you can opt for a square shower cubicle, a quarter-circuit shower cubicle or a pentagonal shower cubicle with a folding, sliding or swing door, depending on the taste. If you want to install the shower in a niche solution, this is no problem with respect to size at any time.
How much water does a shower consume, and how can it be reduced?
If you equip your shower with a conventional shower head, you have to expect a consumption of about 15 liters of water / minute. In comparison, the water consumption during bathing is twice as high. That is why you can make a significant contribution when you shower, not just in terms of energy and water, but also climate protection. With water-saving shower heads (water jets) you can reduce the consumption by an additional 50%.
What are floor-level showers?
Floor-level means nothing more than that the shower is installed without a shower base. Instead of the trays, the bathroom floor has sufficient drainage. This not only makes your bathroom look bigger and more comfortable, it increase the shower area, facilitates easy entry and exit without stumbling blocks and allows barrier-free showers and easy cleaning.
How can you take care of a shower?
When showering with hot water, the bath creates high humidity. In order to avoid dangerous mold formation, we recommend that the bath be thoroughly ventilated after showering. For the coarse cleaning of the glass or plastic washers, a simple sponge is sufficient. To add a special glow to the shower cubicle, we recommend the use of a water vinegar / lemon juice mixture.
What are the costs of purchasing a new shower?
Well, the price depends primarily on your requirements. In respect to quality and equipment, however, you can already have a reasonable shower for a fee of around $600. Of course there are shower systems that can devour a few thousand dollars.
