The Most Common Questions about Garden Lights
Can you recommend solar lights?
Using renewable energy is a great idea, because the sun feeds the storage in the light. At dusk, your garden light will turn on. Many garden lights have the solar cells clearly visible above or to the side. In part, this attachment is considered to affect the appearance, but this can be circumvented with separately installed solar cells. Since the brightness of these garden lights is often limited, they are often used more as an eye-catcher to beautify the garden. In contrast to solar facade lights, which are permanently mounted, a large number of solar garden lights are more flexible. A clear advantage is that the solar lights can be placed in areas of the garden which lack an electrical outlet.
Are garden lights with transformers more susceptible?
No not at all. All offered garden lights with transformer unit must be certified. We recommend that you always look for the certification label. The transformers are water-protected for outdoor use, even heavy rain does not cause any damage. But why a transformer at all? This converts the input current of 230 volts into the operating voltage required by the light, e.g. 12 or 24 volts.
How can I make my garden come to life with the use of garden lights?
Both options will save your wallet. Classic energy-saving lamps are not always shapely. They are significantly more efficient than normal incandescent lamps, but due to the radiation behavior, this does not necessarily work visually. They consume up to 75% less power. Unfortunately, the light output decreases significantly with the life of the energy-saving lamp. LED are extremely energy-efficient, with up to 30% higher light output compared to conventional bulbs. The heat development is very low and the market of LED bulbs is getting bigger.
How do I provide light, but at the same time keep the light fittings out of sight?
A quick solution is to hide the garden light behind a bush. So you do not see the light, the light is indirect. But where is the WOW effect? By choosing shapely spheres, which include a light, they don’t at first glance appear to be a light, and can create lovely warm lighting in the garden. Also beautiful spotlights / lamps can be placed in stones. Simply position these in different places. You will also find, for example, sculptures with recessed lighting fixtures that are not immediately recognizable as garden lights.
